The "South Metro Chorale" is a community choir serving the south metro area of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. The conductor of the choir, Loren M. Squires, founded the choir in the fall of 1998 after a 39 year career in public school music education. The choir provides a varied curriculum of choral experiences and a repertoire that includes classical choral literature, both a' cappella and accompanied, American folk, gospel, jazz, spirituals, and popular arrangements.
The purpose of the choir is to provide our communities with access to quality performances of classical, secular, and sacred choral repertoire and to provide a setting for our singers to pursue their art. This activity enriches both the singers and their audience. The choir also provides special social benefits for the community. The pursuit of excellence is a primary goal.
